Is sex supposed to hurt? What is pelvic pain? How do I get treated for pain during sex?
This weekend, Sexual Health Alliance is bringing in the experts in pelvic pain to answer these questions and provide vital information on pelvic pain assessment and treatment. SHA’s event, Treating Pelvic Pain: Vulva Edition brings together professionals in sex therapy, physical therapy, and medicine. Together, these sexual health leaders will share their expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of pelvic pain conditions. This event’s speaker lineup includes Nicoletta von Heidegger, LMFT, Kayna Cassard, LMFT, Jillian Giannini, PT, and Dr. Lisa M. Valle, D.O.
What is pelvic pain?
Pelvic pain is a common problem among women and has a variety of causes, both medical and psychological. Pain in the pelvic region can range from minor to severe. Pelvic pain can happen to anyone and one of the ways to treat pelvic pain is by seeking pelvic floor physical therapy. SHA spoke with pelvic health physical therapist Jillian Giannini about where to find a pelvic health physical therapist and about her role in this weekend's event.
Meet Jillian Giannini: pelvic health physical therapist
