Dr. Chris Donaghue is an international lecturer, therapist, and educator. Dr Donaghue is the Director of Clinical Education for The Sexual Health Alliance (SHA), host of the LoveLine podcast, weekly expert on “The Amber Rose Show”, and frequent co host on “The Doctors” tv show. He previously hosted WE tv’s “Sex Box”and Logo tv’s “Bad Sex”. He is published in various professional journals and top magazines, and has been featured on The Today Show, VICE, CNN, HLN, OWN, Nightline, Dr Drew and in Newsweek, New York Times, Daily Beast, Mens Health, Cosmo, and National Geographic. DAVID LEY, PHD CST, CST-S
Dr. David J. Ley is an internationally-recognized expert on issues related to sexuality, pornography and mental health. He has appeared on television with Anderson Cooper, Katie Couric, Dr. Phil and others. He has been interviewed in publications ranging from the LA Times and the London Telegraph, to Playboy and Hustler magazines. Dr. Ley has published extensively in both the academic and “pop” realms of literature. His latest book, His new book Ethical Porn for Dicks, A Man's Guide to Responsible Viewing Pleasure has endorsements from Dan Savage and Pornhub.com and is a humorous and provocative handbook for men who want to think more comprehensively about porn. The Myth of Sex Addiction (2012) and Insatiable Wives (2009) were revolutionary explorations of sexual issues which blended a powerful client-centered narrative with a rich understanding of psychology, biology and sociology. At the same time, he is Executive Director of a large behavioral health and substance abuse outpatient program, and consults across the country on both mental health and sexuality-related issues. As a result, Dr. Ley is able to bring a broad, practical approach to help mental health clinicians effectively address sexuality-related issues.
Kelvin Pace, MS, LPC-S, CST
Kelvin graduated with a master’s in clinical psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2009. He has been a LPC supervisor for two years and he has been an AASECT certified therapist for 3 years.
Kelvin is the owner of KpaceCounseling, LLC where he serves clients in private practice. He does contract work with Full Spectrum Health as a behavioral health clinician where he works with an integrated care team delivering evidenced based care to persons of the LGBTQ+ community. Kelvin has worked for a local non-profit delivering mental health services to children and young adults that have suffered from complex trauma. With a firm foundation in trauma, he delivers trauma informed sex positive therapy to his clients. Kelvin provides services to couples and individuals dealing with sexual or relationship issues that include low desire, anxiety surrounding sex, and infidelity. His current focus is on mindfulness based interventions to manage sexual concerns and he works with persons that are either in or looking to explore non-traditional relationship orientations that fall under the umbrella of consensual/ethical non-monogamy.
JOE KORT, PHD, LMSW
Psychotherapist Joe Kort, PhD, LMSW, is the clinical director and founder of The Center for Relationship and Sexual Health in Royal Oak, Michigan. He is a board-certified clinical sexologist, author of four books, lecturer and facilitator of therapeutic workshops. Throughout his 36 years of private practice, he successfully has utilized varying therapy modalities to help hundreds of individuals and couples improve their lives and strengthen their relationships.
Dr. Kort specializes in marital problems and conflicts; mixed orientation marriages; male sexuality and sexual health concerns; “sex addiction,” out-of-control sexual behaviors; sexual identity issues; childhood sexual abuse; LGBTQIA Affirmative Therapy; and Imago Relationship Therapy.

Dr. Kort obtained his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, with a dual major in psychology and social work. He earned master’s degrees in social work and psychology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and a doctorate (PhD) in Clinical Sexology from the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists.
Dr. Justin J. Lehmiller
Received his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Purdue University. He is a Research Fellow at The Kinsey Institute and author of the book Tell Me What You Want: The Science of Sexual Desire and How It Can Help You Improve Your Sex Life. Dr. Lehmiller is an award-winning educator, having been honored three times with the Certificate of Teaching Excellence from Harvard University, where he taught for several years. He is also a prolific researcher and scholar who has published more than 40 pieces of academic writing to date, including a textbook entitled The Psychology of Human Sexuality (now in its second edition) that is used in college classrooms around the world. Dr. Lehmiller’s research focuses on topics including casual sex, sexual fantasy, sexual health, and friends with benefits. His studies have appeared in all of the leading journals on human sexuality, including the Journal of Sex Research, Archives of Sexual Behavior, and The Journal of Sexual Medicine. Dr. Lehmiller has run the popular blog Sex and Psychology since 2011, and it now receives several million page views per year. Dr. Rhonda Balzarini is an Assistant Professor at Texas State University and an Affiliated Faculty Member at the Kinsey Institute at Indiana University. Dr. Balzarini is a social psychologist studying the interpersonal processes that enhance and detract from the quality of romantic and sexual relationships. Her recent research focuses on how diverse couples can have satisfying and passionate relationships and successfully navigate challenges through diversifying need fulfillment, engaging in novel and exciting activities, and being responsive during times of conflict or distress.

Melinda Porter, MA, LPC-S, CST, CCTP is a therapist in Carrollton, Texas and is also a licensed LPC in Colorado. Melinda began her career in education, obtaining a Bachelor Education with an Early Childhood Endorsement degree. She then went on to obtain a Master of Professional Counseling degree from Texas Wesleyan University. While her teaching career was fruitful and encompassed 13 years, she decided to venture into counseling – an endeavor that would allow her to work with individuals and their families as a unit. Dr. Dana Weiser is Chairperson of the Human Development and Family Sciences department at Texas Tech University. She earned her Ph.D. from the Interdisciplinary Social Psychology program at the University of Nevada, Reno. Her program of research mainly focuses on how family experiences shape adults' relationship experiences and sexual behaviors. Her work explores how parents communicate and model behaviors which later influence individuals as they enter their own relationships and become sexually active. She studies how and what families teach us about infidelity, sexual health, and sexual violence as well as predictors of and reactions to infidelity. Her work utilizes a variety of perspectives, including feminist theories and social cognitive theory.

Ariel (Arik) Shoikhedbrod is a senior doctoral candidate in clinical psychology at York University. Arik has provided psychological services across various hospital, community, and private practice settings including practicum placements through the Frederick W. Thompson Anxiety Disorders Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in the University Health Network. Through these experiences, Arik gained specialized training in assessing and treating sexuality-related OCD and supporting individuals and couples experiencing sexual health difficulties from chronic and severe medical issues (i.e., cancer, pain). Arik currently works in private practice as a psychotherapist at Ontario Sex Therapy. Arik’s clinical interests are influenced by his doctoral research on sexual motivation, exploring how the reasons why people have sex can predict the maintenance of desire and satisfaction in romantic relationships over time. He remains informed by contemporary research and evidence-based practices through affiliations with the Canadian Sex Research Forum and the Society for Sex Therapy and Research.

Dr. Andrea Meltzer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Florida State University. Her program of research integrates relationship science and evolutionary psychology to examine the implications of evolved processes for established relationships. Uzma S. Rehman, Ph.D., C. Psych., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Waterloo. Her research lies at the intersection of intimate relationships and sexuality. In her program of research, she investigates sexual communication, sexual desire discrepancies, and sexual well-being using a variety of methods, including self-report, interview, partner reports, and observational methods. Peggy J. Kleinplatz, Ph.D. is a Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Director of Sex and Couples Therapy Training at the University of Ottawa.
She is a clinical psychologist, Board Certified in Sex Education, and a Diplomate and Supervisor of Sex Therapy. She was awarded the Prix d’Excellence in 2000 for her teaching of Human Sexuality. She is Director of the Optimal Sexual Experiences Research Team of the University of Ottawa and has a particular interest in sexual health in the elderly, disabled, and marginalized populations. Kleinplatz has edited four books, notably New Directions in Sex Therapy: Innovations and Alternatives, (Routledge, 2nd Edition), winner of the AASECT 2013 Book Award, Sadomasochism: Powerful Pleasures with Dr. Charles Moser (2006), and Sexuality and Aging (2015) with Dr. Walter Bouman. In 2015, Kleinplatz received the Professional Standard of Excellence Award from the American Association of Sexuality Editors, Counsellors, and Therapists. Joshua Grubbs is an associate professor in the clinical psychology Ph.D. program at Bowling Green State University. Dr. Grubbs’s research program generally focuses on behavioral addictions and the social context of addiction. Additionally, Dr. Grubbs researches the intersection of values and behaviors in determining how people perceive their own actions. Dr. Grubbs has published over 80 peer-reviewed academic articles on topics related to addiction, sexuality, morality, religion, and personality. Dr. Chris Quinn-Nilas is an Assistant Professor of Social Psychology at Memorial University of Newfoundland and the director of the Love Lab. His research focuses on romantic relationships and sexuality, employing quantitative methods to examine the complex dynamics of these partnerships. With a diverse array of research interests, his group investigates topics ranging from the influence of past traumas on relationship and sexual outcomes to the significance of mindfulness and self-compassion in improving relationship and sexual quality. Alongside his academic pursuits, Dr. Quinn-Nilas has experience as a methods and statistics consultant, and he teaches graduate courses in statistics as well as courses on relationships and sexuality. Lauren Streicher, MD is a clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, a certified menopause practitioner of The Menopause Society, and the founding Medical Director of the Northwestern Medicine Center for Sexual Medicine and Menopause. She is a Senior Research Fellow of the Kinsey Institute of Indiana University and the Medical Director of Patient Education and Community Outreach for Midi Health.

Allen Mallory is an assistant professor at The Ohio State University in the Department of Human Sciences. Allen received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in Human Development and Family Sciences where he was also a trainee at the University of Texas Population Research Center. He earned his M.S. in Couple in Family Therapy from Kansas State University and B.A. in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University. Allen’s research takes an intersectional approach to understanding the health and well-being of sexual and gender diverse youth and adults. Specifically, he studies how health disparities related to substance use, mental health, and sexual health vary among sexual and gender diverse people and in comparison to heterosexual/cisgender people across multiple marginalized identities as well as how risk and protective factors tied to multiple identities, such as interpersonal stigma and structural inequality, intersect to affect health. Allen’s second area of research focuses on sexual communication and understanding its benefits for relationship outcomes. He is particularly interested in understanding the components of sexual communication that most benefit relationships, and the different contexts that it has weaker and stronger associations with relational and sexual well-being.

Dr. Jaclyn Siegel is a feminist social psychologist whose research focuses on the ways in which social forces influence body- and eating-related attitudes and behaviors. She has published nearly 30 empirical articles on topics related to body image, eating disorders, gender, and sexuality, and she has taught Psychology of Human Sexual Behavior at San Diego State University to over 700 students. She sits on the editorial boards at Psychology of Women Quarterly, Body Image, Sex Roles, Psychology of Men and Masculinities, and Frontiers in Social Psychology. She is presently a Research Scientist in the Department of Public Health at NORC at the University of Chicago, where she works on various sexual and intimate partner violence prevention projects. In her free time, she enjoys running, musical theatre, and talking to any person who will listen to her about sexuality and/or body image.

Dr. Lucia O’Sullivan is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Psychology at the University of New Brunswick, Canada, specializing in social psychology and sexual health research.
With over 140 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. O’Sullivan’s research focuses on attraction, intimate relationships, sexual health access, and communication. Dr. Brown is a licensed marriage and family therapist with both her M.A. and PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy. Her clinical training began nearly thirty years ago where her studies included a concentration on working with systems while addressing issues of power, privilege, and oppression. After completing her master’s degree, she began working in child welfare in long term foster care. While in this position, she witnessed the trauma children experienced both within their homes and at the point of being removed from their families. She collaborated to develop models for what is now called concurrent planning in foster care. She later became a foster care placement specialist. Prior to completing her doctorate, Dr. Brown held several positions at Denver Children’s Home, a treatment center for traumatized children and families. In her initial work as a residential therapist, she was trained by the Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB) to work with sex offending youth. She also participated in training and case consultation with the Child Trauma Center where she learned to work with families using trauma informed treatment. She transitioned to work in community organizing as the Site Coordinator for the East Denver Collaborative of Family to Family. Through these experiences, she maintained her focus on highlighting the importance of understanding cultural norms and differences in marginalized communities.
She joined the counseling center at the University of Colorado Denver where she returned to clinical work, supervision and training in 2011. In 2019, she joined the Counseling Program at CU Denver specializing in couple and family therapy through a multicultural lens. She maintains a private practice offering consultation, clinical supervision, and individual, couple, and family therapy.

Cynthia Graham is currently a Senior Scientist at the Kinsey Institute and a Professor of Gender Studies at Indiana University Bloomington. She has been Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Sex Research since 2009. Her current research focuses on male condom use, hormonal contraceptives, women’s sexuality, women’s sexual pleasure, sexual problems and sexual health among older adults.
She has been a member of the Kinsey Institute Condom Use Research Team since 2000. Her research has been funded by the UK Medical Research Council and the National Institute of Health Research.
Cynthia was a member of the DSM-5 Workgroup on Sexual and Gender Identity Disorders. In 2023, she won the Masters and Johnson Award from the Society for Sex Therapy and Research. In 2016 she was awarded the Distinguished Scientific Achievement Award and in 2019 the Distinguished Service to SSSS Award by the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality. Kat is currently completing the PhD Social and Personality Psychology program at York University. She holds a Masters of Science Degree in Couple & Family Therapy Program from the University of Guelph, an Honours BA Degree in Psychology from York University and a Certificate in Sexuality Studies from York University. She is an Associate Member of ASTO (Association of Sex Therapy in Ontario, formerly BESTCO) and specializes in sex and relationship therapy. Dr. Jessica Maxwell is an Assistant Professor in the Social Psychology Program and the Department of Health, Aging & Society at McMaster University, specializing in interpersonal relationships and sexuality.
She earned her PhD at the University of Toronto, researching how a growth mindset in sex and relationships enhances intimacy. She later completed a SSHRC postdoctoral fellowship at Florida State University, studying how conflict impacts newlyweds' sex lives. Previously, she was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland (2019-2022), focusing on romantic relationship dynamics.
Dr. Maxwell's research explores how expectations, perceptions, and insecurities influence sexual and relationship well-being. She examines topics such as sexual satisfaction, partner perception accuracy, attachment styles, and perfectionism’s impact on relationships. Her work employs longitudinal studies, dyadic research, experience sampling, speed-dating, and eye-tracking methodologies.
Currently, she is leading an SSHRC-funded study on older adults' sexual mindsets, contributing to a deeper understanding of sexuality across the lifespan.

Dr. Shari M. Blumenstock is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Psychology at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. After her original training in mechanical engineering, Shari began pursuing a career studying romantic and sexual relationships, receiving her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Human Development and Family Studies in 2019 and postdoctoral training at the Kinsey Institute from 2020-2022. Her research focuses on sexual experiences and well-being within the context of intimate relationships, as well as the psychophysiological components of sexual arousal and desire, with an emphasis on pleasure, causal mechanisms underlying sexual desire, attachment, and partner influences. Shari is also passionate about using science to help others improve their romantic and sexual relationships. One of her overarching goals is to help others become more empowered and intentional in their relationships, particularly when it comes to sex.
