Meet Our Sunday Presenter: Dr. Uchenna Ossai!
Dr. Uchenna “UC” Ossai is a sex-positive pelvic health physical therapist, sex educator and counselor. UC is only one of three licensed Physical Therapists in the world with an AASECT certification in sexuality counseling; as well as the only Black Physical Therapist with this specific designation. UC spends her days treating people with both sexual and pelvic floor dysfunction, and her evenings educating the masses on everything that has to do with “sexytime.” When it comes to sexual intelligence and great sex education, UC embraces always being unapologetically real, happily crunk, and deliciously kind. http://www.youseelogic.com
Meet our Sexceptional Lecturer, Saturday: Dr. David J. Ley is an internationally-recognized expert on issues related to sexuality, pornography and mental health. He has appeared on television with Anderson Cooper, Katie Couric, Dr. Phil and others. He has been interviewed in publications ranging from the LA Times and the London Telegraph, to Playboy and Hustler magazines. Dr. Ley has published extensively in both the academic and “pop” realms of literature. His latest book, His new book Ethical Porn for Dicks, A Man's Guide to Responsible Viewing Pleasure has endorsements from Dan Savage and Pornhub.com and is a humorous and provocative handbook for men who want to think more comprehensively about porn. The Myth of Sex Addiction (2012) and Insatiable Wives (2009) were revolutionary explorations of sexual issues which blended a powerful client-centered narrative with a rich understanding of psychology, biology and sociology. At the same time, he is Executive Director of a large behavioral health and substance abuse outpatient program, and consults across the country on both mental health and sexuality-related issues. As a result, Dr. Ley is able to bring a broad, practical approach to help mental health clinicians effectively address sexuality-related issues.

Saturday Sexceptional Lecture with Dr. David Ley
"Integrating Love, Sex & Porn"
Few people today have not seen pornography, or been impacted by it in some manner. As a result of abstinence-only education, many people learn about sex from porn. Most discussions of porn frame it as a dangerous, evil, sinful and addictive distraction. Many couples struggle with the role of porn, largely because they've never been taught how to self-manage their sexuality, or discuss and negotiate sexuality within their relationship. But what if we can learn about ourselves and our sexuality from our interactions with porn? Are there ways to ethically, responsibly integrate porn use in a mindful way into our personal and relational sexuality? Dr. David Ley thinks there is, and offers advice on how to have these conversations. Presentation does include some video material depicting sexuality and use of pornography, but does NOT include display of actual pornographic material.
Learning Objectives:
To understand why and how people use pornography; To apply that understanding to the impact of porn on relationships; Learn ways to assist patients, couples and individuals in negotiating the role of porn within relationships
Saturday Morning Program with Dr. David Ley
"Problem Sexual Behaviors: From Sex Addiction to #Metoo. How therapists can navigate these treacherous waters."
People are getting in trouble for their sexual behaviors left and right these days. Many past sexual behaviors are being resurrected and challenged. People harmed by sexual behaviors are empowered, now more than ever, to publicly voice their experiences, and demand accountability. How can therapists support and address these issues in their patients? What is the best way they can support someone who is now speaking up about their experiences of sexually unwelcome behaviors? How can therapists best treat men who are accused of these behaviors, and help to reduce chances of future problems? Historically, individuals accused of such behaviors were sent to treatment by sex offender therapists, or to sex addiction treatment. Now that we are identifying and discussing these issues in new ways, are these still the right treatment approaches? If not, what is? This is an evolving topic, and course includes group discussion and group exercises, as well as discussion of evidence based practices in support of addressing problem sexual behaviors.
Objectives:
Participants will practice case conceptualization and treatment planning for patients who have been harmed or harmed others with sexual behaviors; Participants will be able to frame modern dialogue and social shifts in regard to sexual behavior problems, within larger social dynamics around gender, sexuality, economics and law. Participants will explore ways to assess individuals accused of sexual behavior problems, sexual assault and sexual harassment. Participants will learn to identify and discuss risk factors, personality, relationship and sexual characteristics which are involved in problem sexual behaviors. Participants will engage in group discussions about treatment strategies which may be employed to assist in changes to sexual behavior problems.
