Censorship and Advocacy: A Guide for Therapists Supporting the Sex Work Community
Censorship is tightening its grip, and sex workers are facing unprecedented challenges to their freedom of expression, safety, and ability to earn a livelihood. This workshop, sponsored by Hotline and Royal Fetish Films, will highlight how these restrictions impact the mental health and well-being of sex workers. While many focus on the content itself, the true concern for therapists should be the broader impact—how censorship affects their clients' autonomy, safety, and income security. Therapists must be prepared to advocate for the SW community, addressing the harmful consequences of censorship and learning how to empower their clients through advocacy and support.
