SHA’s Study Abroad Program offers students the opportunity to conduct a comparative analysis of sexual attitudes and behaviors between a host country (Amsterdam, Prague, Reykjavik, or Barcelona) and the United States. Each location provides a unique cultural and legal landscape related to sexual health, LGBTQ+ issues, and sex work. Students will immerse themselves in local culture, gain global perspectives, and learn through lectures, workshops, and cultural excursions.
-
The course fee for each program is $1597 (plus additional fees) per student. This includes:
All lectures/workshops with Dr. Justin Lehmiller
Events with guest speakers
Cultural excursions and adventures

Students are responsible for their own transportation, hotel accommodations, and meals. Public transportation in all cities is reliable and budget-friendly, allowing students to opt for accommodations outside the city center if desired. SHA will provide options for room-sharing to help minimize costs as the program date approaches.
It is important to book flights and hotels to arrive by early to mid-afternoon on the first day of the program, with activities commencing at 4:00 PM. Students are welcome to extend their stay before or after the program and will receive a list of optional activities to explore the city.
-
Students will stay in the city center of each host city to be close to most activities. SHA will send recommended hotel options near the meeting points after registration. However, students are free to book accommodations anywhere they prefer. SHA also facilitates room-sharing among students to reduce costs.

Your Study Abroad ticket includes the Sexceptional Weekend: Sexuality Around the World with Dr. Justin Lehmiller and expert guest lecturers. We highly encourage live attendance, but recordings will be available for those unable to attend. This event forms part of the course's continuing education credits (CEs).

There are no pre-requisites for these courses. Students from various backgrounds—ranging from sex enthusiasts, therapists, educators, and medical practitioners to researchers and professors—are welcome to join. You do not need to be a SHA student or member to attend, but we are confident you will leave as a fan!

Absolutely! Each location offers distinct experiences, perspectives, and insights into global sexuality issues. Many students attend multiple programs and sometimes travel together between cities if schedules align.
