Great Lakes Sexual Health Alliance invites you to our Sexual Health Symposium in Detroit, Michigan, designed to provide the most current information and treatment strategies for medical and mental health professionals. The full day event will feature presentations on sexual concerns, including sexual pain, male and female sexual dysfunction, and desire discrepancy. In addition, there will be sessions on working with the LGBTQIA population, as well as those in alternative sexuality communities, including kink and BDSM.
Our featured speaker, Dr. Joe Kort, is a licensed clinical psychologist and sex therapist with over 20 years experience working in the field of sexuality and relationships. He will present on affirmative and competent care for those in the LGBTQIA population.

Its specialties include: Gay Affirmative Psychotherapy, emphasizing how being knowledgeable about gay issues informs the therapeutic process, and IMAGO Relationship Therapy, a specific program to help couples and singles learn to improve their communication and relationship skills. It is based on the books Getting The Love You Want and Keeping The Love You Find by Dr. Harville Hendrix.
